Let’s start this off by reviewing three important terms:

1. Colorism is the discrimination experienced by “darker-toned” individuals within the Black community by other (colored individuals) who do not approve of them.

2. Group-think is the process by which the “in-group” (a group of individuals who share commonalities) come against the “out-group” (individuals who do NOT share similarities with the in-group) will do any and everything they can to remain apart of the “in-group.”

3. Blue Wall of Silence is the informal code of police officers not to report the negative behaviors and misconduct of other officers.
